I am so excited to finally announce the launch of our Lightroom Presets! I’ve been creating and refining these photo presets for years since Jacob and I first left to travel in 2016. I’ve received countless DM’s on Instagram, emails, messages, even in-person requests for these presets. Words cannot express how happy I am to finally be sharing them with you.

When Jacob and I first left to travel we started taking photos together as a way to share our adventure with friends and family. At first, I was taking photos with my iPhone, but I quickly progressed to using our camera (at the time, it was a Canon 6D —  here’s the camera we use now). This was back when VSCO was the standard photo editing app. It quickly became apparent that I needed a more comprehensive program to edit photos, and that I should be editing on a computer. Luckily, Jacob encouraged me to invest in Adobe Lightroom.

I was so terrified to learn a new program when I had been so out of practice! For me, photography had been a hobby back in high school and the beginning of college. I was taking black and white photos and developing them manually in a dark room! I had bought a digital camera back in the day (I spent around $600 on a Nikon camera at the time), but I wasn’t excited about the photos coming out of it. I felt like my black and white film photos looked better than the digital ones I was taking. I eventually got busy and lost interest, so I stopped taking photos.

Once I started watching Lightroom video tutorials it seemed more straightforward than I had expected. I started to learn the tools of the program myself. Even still, it was overwhelming in the beginning. I learned what the tools were and saved photos on Pinterest that I loved and wanted to emulate, but I couldn’t figure out how to make mine look similar. I spent hours editing and re-editing photos. I eventually found and bought Lightroom Presets online that were cheap, but I didn’t like how they looked, so I never used them.

Then things started to change: I got better. A LOT better. I told myself I wouldn’t save a photo until it looked exactly like what I wanted. I spent hours, days, weeks on photos. I became obsessed with creating the perfect color and clean, dreamy look that I liked. I started creating our own Lightroom Presets. And while this was all happening, I fell in love with photography again.

Over the next few months, Jacob and I launched this blog and developed @finduslost as you know it now. It was our passion project through and through. With our photos, I wanted to inspire others to travel, and also provide information on the places that inspired them. I was motivated to create travel guides that looked beautiful, and felt honest and useful. I wanted to share my love for photography with the world.

I wouldn’t be where I am today without Jacob. He has taught me so much about the technical aspects of photography and helped make everything so easy to comprehend. He’s truly a wealth of knowledge and I’m so happy to share what he’s taught me. If you’re looking for photography tips and recommendations, I highly encourage you to read his breakdown of how we shoot and edit photos and his guide to choosing the best camera and lens set up for you.

Which brings me back to this moment. Lightroom inspired me to fall back in love with photography, and that’s why I’m so excited to share these presets with you. Today I’m releasing three collections: our Europe CollectionGreek Islands Collection, and our Master Collection (which offers both complete collections at a discounted price).

Our Europe Collection was inspired by and created during our travels through Europe and other countries around the world. Our Greek Islands Collection was created during our travels through the Greek Islands, Cook Islands, Bahamas, and other warm and tropical beach destinations. Both collections were created from different destinations and scenarios, but the presets in them work across a variety of photos, including: cities, beaches, portraits, landscapes, interiors, and more. Our Master Collection (Europe + Greek Islands combined) covers you for every scenario, and includes all the presets we use to edit photos on a daily basis!
