When Jacob proposed to me in Kauai, I was so surprised. The setting was beautiful, as was the moment. It was the most exciting way to kick off the next year of travels that we had planned together! Of course, after calling our families, gushing with excitement, and replaying the moment over and over again, he revealed to me that he also had an alternate plan for the proposal: Santorini, Greece. But coordinating trying to carry and hide a diamond ring through multiple airports, Airbnbs, and one very packed car seemed impossible. Then we had an idea — how about instead, we celebrate by having our engagement photos taken there?
Planning an engagement shoot in Europe isn’t a piece of cake, but it was so worth it! After finding the talented Melanie Nedelko through some Pinterest hunting, we locked down a date. Before we knew it, we were waking up at the crack of dawn in Santorini (4:00am!), thrilled to be simultaneously experiencing the most beautiful locations on the island and focusing our attention solely on each other. Melanie made us feel so comfortable. Best of all? She shot all our photos on 120mm film!
The anticipation of receiving the final product made it that much better when we finally did. We love them, and we hope you do too.

Post authorThanks Jerry! It’s changed a few times, but our current favorite is the one taken on the Greek church.
Our days are usually split between working, editing photos, and wandering the streets of Amsterdam. 🙂
