There’s been a trend lately of maximizing trip time; combining city breaks with nature getaways. If you want to feel removed on your own slice of Norwegian paradise, Storfjord Hotel is the place. One photo of this hotel and I knew I had to see it for myself, which is exactly what I ended up doing back in Norway.

Every inch of the Storfjord Hotel is immaculate. Walking in to the main building, I could’ve been fooled that the place existed solely for me. I was greeted by a crackling fire and the smell of pine. Here, cozy throws cover plaid furniture, amongst log walls and antiques. It’s pure bliss: cozy, refined charm imagined all with Scandinavian design. Settling in that night, there was only one thought on my mind: this is the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. 

Storfjord Hotel is located on the west coast of Norway near Skodje, an hour drive from Alesund airport. It’s a true escape, with views of the Norwegian fjords out the window and grass-covered rooftops. The hotel has a fine dining restaurant, sauna, and outdoor jacuzzi. They arrange many nearby activities, including hiking trips, sightseeing, visits to nearby farms, and boat trips through the islands (the boat trip was easily my favorite part of my Norway trip) If you want a unique Norwegian experience without needing to figure out the logistics, book your stay and leave the rest to them.
