Private pool courtyard at Siora of Paros Airbnb rental, 3-minute walk from Naoussa town center, Paros GreeceThe outdoor courtyard and pool at one of my favorite stays in Naoussa, Paros.

Paros offers incredible diversity: quaint hilltop towns with panoramic sea views, tavernas tucked away on winding cobblestone streets, boutique shopping, and stretches of turquoise water meeting sandy beaches. I often refer to it as ‘the crowd-pleasing’ island: whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a friend’s trip, or a family vacation, there’s something on Paros for everyone.

Paros is large enough that you won’t run out of places to see in a week. While I recommend renting a car or ATV here so you have the flexibility to explore, where you base yourself will shape your experience entirely. Staying in Naoussa means you’ll have lively restaurants and bars at your doorstep. On the other hand, a hilltop village or beachfront property stay means your days will revolve around peaceful beaches, seaside tavernas, and a slower pace of island living.

Compared to its nearby neighbors, Mykonos and Santorini, Paros feels more relaxed and authentic, though it has started to gain in popularity rapidly over the last few years. It still remains one of my favorite islands because it has all the makings of a diverse and varied island: boutique hotels alongside beautiful villa rentals, incredible restaurants and tavernas, great beaches, quaint villages, and plenty to explore.

In this guide to the best places to stay in Paros, you’ll find:

  • A breakdown of the best areas to stay on Paros
  • Honest pros and cons of each location
  • My favorite hotels and boutique stays
  • Handpicked Airbnbs, villas and rental houses

Where to stay on Paros by Area

Based on the vibe you’re looking for, here’s my quick summary of how to choose where to stay on Paros: stay in Naoussa if you want to be within walking distance of restaurants and nightlife, Piso Livadi if your priority is easy access to a sandy beach, Lefkes for a more authentic and relaxed stay in a village, and a house rental near a beach if you want your own space and plan on having a car; this is especially useful for big groups and families.

Piso Livadi – For easy access to a sandy stretch of beach that’s family-friendly (Stay: Blue Waves Suites or Aquolia)

My Top Choice For Where To Stay on Paros

Having stayed in each type of stay mentioned above, my favorite type of stay on Paros is in a rental house with a pool, ideally within a short walk or drive to a beach. There’s a simple reason for that: Paros has some of the nicest house and villa rentals in the Greek Islands, both for couples and families. As Paros continues to grow in popularity, this option guarantees you will have a relaxing, comfortable stay away from the crowds and within a short distance from a beach and downtown.

Given that Paros is very drivable and lends itself well to exploration, renting a house or villa also doesn’t mean you compromise on convenience. That said, if you prefer not to drive or want to be within a walk to restaurants, this is not the best option for your needs.

Naoussa: Best Area to Stay in Paros for Restaurants and Nightlife

Once a traditional fishing village, Naoussa has evolved into the island’s most vibrant town while still maintaining its classic Cycladic charm. It’s a great spot to stay in if you want restaurants, busy town squares, and beaches all within a short walk. While being centrally located allows for a variety of choices when it comes to your evening sunset glass of wine or long dinner at the taverna, it’s also close enough to Kolymbithres or Santa Maria for your beach fix.

Naoussa also has the highest concentration of boutique hotels and rentals in Paros, making it one of the most popular bases for travelers looking for a balance of culture, atmosphere, and great food.

Best for

Couples, groups of friends, and travelers looking for a lively base with great restaurants and nightlife.

Pros & Cons

  • Pros: Best restaurants and nightlife in Paros, a beautiful harbor setting, and close proximity to several of the island’s top beaches.
  • Cons: Most expensive area for accommodation, busy in peak summer months, and parking can be limited.

Staying just east of the main streets of Naoussa means you’ll be in a residential area, split between walking distance of the town and Agioi Anargyroi beach (for example, at this rental home or more beachfront but still close to Naoussa at this hotel).

Other Hotels and Stays in Paros

Beyond these four areas that I recommend the most, there are a number of design-forward stays and property gems that are still worth consideration. If you opt to stay in any of these, know that having a car is highly recommended so you can still explore the other parts of Paros island.

  • Yria Boutique Hotel, located in Parasporos – a bright, design-forward boutique hotel located next to quieter Parasporos Bay. Amenities include a swimming pool, tennis, fitness programs, piano bar, and restaurant.
  • Parocks Luxury Hotel & Spa, located in Ampelas – a luxurious getaway located in Ampelas, with access to a beautiful hidden beach and all the amenities you could need. Great for couples and families alike.
