Lately I’ve been getting more and more questions about what I’m wearing in photos. So, when I posted on our Instagram stories during our trip to Tulum, I received a lot of DM’s about the pink dress I was wearing. Considering the fact that we’re traveling full-time, I’ve been pretty creative with what I pack and bring with us! Luckily, we’ve been traveling to a lot of warm places recently but I knew I would need something a more ‘beach chic’ for the wedding we were attending in Mexico.

So, when I was visiting my best friend in Seattle we went shopping together and I picked out this light, flowy pink dress from Free People. My number one requirement for anything I buy now is that it’s machine washable. Since this dress can be thrown in a cold wash and it folded up small, it fit the bill perfectly. I also love the ruffle cap sleeves — they’re a great touch without being too over the top.

I wore the dress for the wedding we attended in Tulum and I’ve been wearing it as a casual day dress since. It’s versatile enough that I can dress it up or down. No problems with washing it for the first time either!

Since we just visited the west coast of California where our families live this week, Jacob and I left extra clothes we’ve been carrying around at their house. We literally still had our lederhosen and dirndl from Oktoberfest in Munich taking up one fourth of my suitcase! Traveling full-time has come with its challenges, but it has definitely made me better about choosing quality over quantity. Even with a full suitcase, the items I love are the ones I always grab to wear first.

Have you ever traveled for an extended period of time? I’d love to know what you learned from the experience.
