Boat Trip in Tenerife, Canary Islands, SpainLet me start by saying that I knew nothing about the Canary Islands before we visited last month! I was intrigued by the name but arrived with almost no expectations. We visited the island to take photos and video for Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife to promote their international hotels.

Tenerife is a volcanic island that has a number of natural swimming pools, colorful pastel towns, and incredible views thanks to its winding mountain roads and active volcano “El Teide”. We split our days between lounging at the pool and exploring the island. The Canary Islands are part of Spain, so there was no shortage of delicious food there either!

One of the highlights of our trip was when we took a sailboat out along the coastline — we saw whales, dolphins, and hundreds of fish! The water is so clear, and there are some beautiful beaches around the island that you can only get to by boat.

The colorful town above is San Cristobal de la Laguna, which I absolutely loved. On a sunny day it’s filled with people at outdoor cafés, and also has trendy boutiques with homemade items and endless beautiful architecture.

Now to visit the other six Canary Islands!
